Sous contrôle

Man’s relationship to his surrounding is predominantly one of control. This environment can be man-made (cities, roads, houses), but if it grows naturally it will be tamed, trimmed, torn, gazed, chopped, constrained, even cut off if necessary.

But plants never give up, and endlessly reclaim freedom and movement. Man is like Sisyphus, bound to fail. Yet, he does not give up his fantasy of control, which probably provides comfort.
